Privacy

ChowChow Labs operates weather.chowchowlabs.com.

Without an account

We detect your country approximately (from your connection) to choose default units. We ask for your precise location only if you press “Use my location”, and use it for that forecast only. Display changes you try without an account last only for this browser session.

With an account

We store your email address and sign-in provider, the locations you choose to save, and your display preferences. They are stored with Supabase. Each account can access only its own data.

Visit statistics

Like all ChowChow Labs sites, we count visits anonymously to improve the site: pages viewed, time on page, approximate country, and browser type. No IP addresses are stored and nothing typed into forms is sent, with one exception: when a search matches no place we list, the search words (for example “halifax”) are counted so we know which places to add next. A random ID for this site is kept in your browser; none is kept if you send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, or are in Quebec. Turn off visit statistics.

Third parties

Forecast requests are sent from our servers to the weather providers listed on the Data sources page, with coordinates rounded to about 100 m. If advertising is enabled, ad scripts will not receive your saved places.

Your choices

You can sign out, delete saved items, or delete your account from the Account page. Deletion removes your saved locations and preferences.
